On May 23, 2018 the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Embassy of People's Republic of China Mr. Shen Xiaokai visited Latvian Sports Wushu Federation and met with federation's board members Mr. Roman Vlasenko and Mrs. Viktorija Vlasenko. They had in depth discussion on current developments of the federation, and ways how to improve wushu skills of the students.
Mrs. Victoria told that there are a lot of wushu martial art enthusiasts in Latvia and in general Latvian people are very familiar with “kungfu”. Latvia Sports Wushu Federation was established in 2005 and its original name at the time was "Latvia Wushu Federation ". It is a member of European Wushu federation and International Wushu federation. At this point the federation has 11 members and 350 students from different clubs.
During the meeting Mr. Shen Xiaokai gave an introduction on Shaolin martial arts and Taiji boxing training seminar programs organized by government of People's Republic of China and invited federation members to participate to the seminar.
Mrs. Viktorija Vlasenko confirmed willingness of federation's martial art students and teachers to participate in the seminar and was happy to introduce potential participants who after the meeting gave a demonstration of their martial art skills.
